So ... I'm back blogging ! Hello, blog world ! Hope you still remember Reevo Saulus, then.

Well, I had 2 months blogging absence because so many things I gotta do. And last semester, was the most chaotic one. But well, the results are satisfying and I can smile on my GPA transcript. Well done :)

But for now, just want to play something black. Somekind of another outfit post. I just don't know why I love monochromatic color palette. I think I'm bad at matching colors, though. Well ...

And maybe, several peoples who knows me personally or maybe my Twitter followers might knows that I'm trying my luck on modeling ! Well yeah, I know my limit basically. I'm not that goodlooking like those Burberry Prorsum male models, but what encourage me to try is .. I think I got height. I'm 1.80 m and I think that's quite enough and praise the Lord, I got my catwalk debut on Fashion 4 Charity by Dee Ong event last June and it went well.

After that, the luck still comes over on me. I got a chance to be in the same frame with one of Indonesian male model, Mikael Jasin (several of you might knows him. If you don't, just Google him. He's a good model indeed !) Next post, I would like to share the shoots, then. Ciao for now, then :)

An Imperfect Angel

I suddenly thinking, I supposed to be born under the hands of Gemini. Because sometimes I feel that I have another side of myself. I couldn't say it as an alter ego, nor a bipolar syndrome. I couldn't even tell what's its name is.

Until you come to me. You might not be the most perfect creature that God ever made in the galaxy. You might not be the most beautiful human being on the planet. An angel in disguise. Covered in so many external imperfections that I could see with my eyes.

An angel isn't supposed to be physically perfect. It is. Because what I see in front of me; is a wingless angel, with less of hair length, with less of smooth skin, with less of true beauty. Another type of creature that it seems to be born premature and it should be stay longer on its chrysalis.

An angel who stay beside me when I'm having my happiness leap. An angel who stay beside me when I'm drowning on my sadness. Even an angel who reminds me to control my attitude, to delete my childish side on my body, to encourage me to pose in front of the camera, to boost my mood up on my campus project. What else ?

I didn't even asked God to send me a special creature to accompany me; to guide me here. But it seems that He did. He might didn't build you to be perfect, but you built yourself perfectly-- and that's a plus-- and that's the thing I love.

If I keep asking you that ''Why'd you so perfect ?''-- It's purely because you are and I just couldn't stop wow-ing yourself. And if you think you are not good enough in front of them, take a look at me and stand before me. And what I see is a full package of perfection and that is you.

There's a fate in life that we should face & we just couldn't deny it. So bring me fly together with you to reach our dream together.

Nikicio Mixté Vol.6 - "Untitled"

I had a chance to attend the private launching presentation of an Indonesian label Nikicio; the Mixté latest collection called "Untitled". I had a very sudden RSVP, right a day before the private launch and I supposed to come with my friend and sadly she didn't came due to her hectic university stuffs so ... I came alone (Oh, God bless Ario Achda for calling me ! LOL !)

The presentation went so elegant, the designer herself explained each of the collection in English; very well spoken, very adorable. And personally, this is my current favourite Nikicio collection among the other collections.

I love the way she took the androgynous theme to becoming so classy, mysterious yet elegant at the same time. Beautiful fabrics, unusual geometrical shapes & somekind of asymmetrical designs are beautifully attached to the collection.

Nina Nikicio herself convinced that she got the inspiration from the "Inception movie. So I could say that she might be thinking about future, dream and a little bit of unusual abstraction to her collection. The color palette is all black. Kinda reminds me of Jordanian designer, Rad Hourani. Overall, the collection is great, my favourite collection so far and those are androgynously stunning ! Bravo Nikicio !

I always have a little intention to design clothes for myself. And for certain readers that might not know, I almost enter Fashion Design major at Esmod Jakarta back at the time, but there was an internal stuff tha makes me bury my plan to take the major.

But I still can design a simple shirt like this one, my first attempt on designing clothes. Inspired from the latest Burberry Prorsum's Fall/Winter collection. I really love how Christopher Bailey played with somekind of color block on his designs and these blue trench coats are fashion items to die for. Because I do live in a tropical country, let this be an inspiration and I'll make another new thing from this one.

So I went to a textile shop with my Mother to buy this electric blue fabric, approximately 2 meters long and also, because I have zero skill in sewing thing, I give my brief sketch and the fabric to my Mom's tailor. And luckily, the tailor worked rapidly and it took about 3 days to finish and voîla ! An electric blue shirt with oversized hoodie.

My personal concept for this shirt is just about how good you can bring a simplicity to the next level and I do really caught it in Christopher Bailey's design and it inspired me. I designed the hoodie to be oversized because I can fold it around my neck anytime the weather changed so I can use it as a sudden scarf.

And do you know what's on my mind now ?

Of course. Designing another clothes. For me.

Chris Medina - What Are Words

If some of you readers watched American Idol, this guy might be notable. Chris Medina, a 26 years old barista from Oak Forest, Illinois entered the audition in Oklahoma City. He was just one step away to Hollywood Week but he is eliminated and the judge Jennifer Lopez cried over. Luckily, he is now a shining star and owning his first single, "What are Words". He looked like an All American Boys but what's makes him special is his personal life. He currently engaged with his fiancé. And couple month after the engagement, his fiancé had an accident and she got her brain damaged. She is now stuck on a wheel chair & seriously this is touching, I feel sorry for her. And I totally give a very high salutation to this man because he is stick with his fiancé, taking care of her with full of passion.

This man gave me an inspiration about a faithful, a solidarity, a loyality. He is acceptable about his fiancé's physical appearance right after she got her brain damaged by the car accident and keep supporting her to recovered. A true love so called. This usually happened on a love story, on a romantic movie and I just don't know that .. It becomes real. Salute to Chris Medina, he's totally an inspiration for me. Kinda reminiscing me about my personal story about me and someone; I couldn't tell much but I just want to say that responsibility and consistency are both important thing to maintaining either a friendship relationship and love relationship. Thank you so much, Chris Medina. You are such a über inspiration for me.

Reminiscence

High school graduation back on 2009. I do really want to rewind my lifetime back starts at this graduation, and backwards.

"There's no such thing as pausing your life because if there is, I'd definitely press the rewind button." - A brilliant quote from my brilliant long time best friend, Anggia Pramudhita.

I have somekind of trouble, a sort of addiction about a thing called memory. I'm wondering alone, lying on my bed, and thinking if I have a power to manipulate a time. I really want to go back to my past and I can see my future. Kinda daydreaming, but I just couldn't accept the real fact that we can't turn back the time, it won't come back. And I do still wondering that on the future someday, I could find a store that selling a time machine. Time machine sounds very interesting for me. I see it on the movie, I see it on Doraemon cartoon. Yes, call me weird.

Reminiscences are painful. I divide memory into a two big lines; good memory and bad memory. And if you guys wondering, which part of my life that I really wish I could go back, rebuild and refix it ? Obviously, it's my high school time. I got too much bittersweet memories on that green building; SMA Negeri 46 Jakarta. That place totally taught me how to convert my damn-freakin-childish mindset into a better one; well am not sure my mindset has totally changed at the moment because I do still thinking that I act childish everytime.

I was a so-so high school student. I was just a mediocre, I haven't had to widen up my "temporary existence" by joining the prefect department (or in Indonesian, we called it Organisasi Siswa Intra Sekolah ; as it shortened as OSIS), I was an underdog, somekind of bad students mocked me. Yes they did. I wasn't mad, I didn't have to, I was just thinking that they might being envious with me. I wasn't that smart on high school, I was on social science class but I fucking loathe accounting subject, I was a rebel; I fought with my nationality law teacher because she mocked me that time and I couldn't tolerate it anymore. At last, I locked her mouth.

I never have an intention to enter the science class, most of Indonesian stereotype speaks that; "Wow, students in science class must be smarter than the others." and I was like excuse me ? We're equal right after we graduate from this school, man. Come on. I against stereotype. Because something rare is a thing that could make me stand out. I was an occasional silent student, depends on the place. Sort of bad memories I had was on my 10th grade, where I was on a same class with 4 fucking lame students; they mocked me, they underestimate me and yeah, it was quite hurting me and I was like OK man, do what you want to me now but just don't be regret if I defeat you guys on my future. And I proved it. I don't have to write what happened on that 4 lame students (sort of my ex-classmates & best friends might knows who they are), but thank God because I am now standing way way in front of them. The wheel of life is totally moving.

Great memories started when I turned into 11th grade on the social science class. I just think that the chemistry is stronger on grade 11 and 12 because all the students stayed in the same class until our graduation. I had so much great memories here with my classmates. They might often mocking me, but I wasn't that mad like on the 10th grade, because the circumstance were way better than my 1st year. Lots of laughs I had on my 2nd and 3rd year of my high school, until that day called graduation day came, and I gotta face the reality that I gotta wake up, I gotta move on. It's pretty difficult for me to evict my high school memories from my head but I just couldn't have to.

A simple analogy of windows on the car. Just think that windshield as your future, and the rearview mirror as your past. You are required to focus by looking forward on your future without forgetting your past.

My passion of black and white is suddenly increased by the time I woke up from my sleep, knowing that I have class at 1 PM and I'm doing nothing, I took my camera and starts playing with my outfit and this faux Burberry scarf. Pretty cool enough to have a quick shoot of my outfit. So, this is it. Just play with black and white.

So, how's life, readers ? Mine ? Hemmmm, well if you're one of my Twitter followers, you might see that I certainly tweet in sad words, well yeah I feel so blue. And I just couldn't tell you peoples the reason is. Somehow I kinda enjoy for being a loner-- a self proclaimed loner. And in the other side, I just need another hands to keep me strong. That's it.

Oh and, the announcement that I promised on my last post that I would post it now ? Well, I gotta postpone to announce it. Later !

Woodcut Mess

OK then. I'm just so busy with my university projects. As you know already, art major is a hot mess and an epic drama and this semester is totally tougher. I'm learning about product design, packaging design, typographical poster, manual printing, video shooting and entrepreneurship. And I'm pretty sure that some of you readers would say "Oh wow Reevo, that's sounds cool. That's sounds interesting. Blah, blah, blah."-- Well, I can say yes, it's pretty interesting. But there's a consequences in every single major discipline you take for sure.

And this semester is crazy. Am doing a manual printing, and I'm doing a woodcut work, or in Indonesian, we say it as Metode Reproduksi Grafika (Graphic Reproduction Method). And the woodcut work is damn crazy and a hot mess boiled on my bedroom. The cutted wood is trashing my room's floor. And I still working on it. Would like to post my first woodcut artwork (if only the final result is satisfying :p)

Oh, and thank you so much to the one and only Ms. Clara Devi from Sunflares Plethora for the undirect wake up call that reminds me to update my blog. I was just too busy to maintaining my blog like ergh, I have my packaging project here, I have my woodcut project there, I have my poster project there-- OK, that's a mess. But I post something here, right ? And, I got a little announcement to you, readers. Hmmm, I just want to announce it on the next post. And what can I request to you readers, just wish me luck :-)

Another Anomaly Thing from Indonesia

My early apology if I looked like underestimating my own country and act like an un-nationalist civilian. But seriously, there is something wrong on our lovely country (not a city, Nadine Chandrawinata. Note that !), Indonesia. As we know, the latest issue about the banning of international movies by Indonesian custom. May I know what is the purpose of Indonesian custom department by banning international movie ? If they complained because the tax is way too expensive, you can perform some tactics on it, I personally would like to pay high for a great quality international movies such as Tron Legacy, Harry Potter and many more.

I mean like, if Indonesian film industry can beat or at least standing on the same level with Pixar Inc., you might could ban and stop importing those international movies to this country. Because watching several local movies are much equals with .. Duping. Why duping ? Well, not all local movies I could sort as an undirect duping to its viewers, but those porn-horror type of genre is a total duping by camouflage a porn scene inside a horror tale, Well, am sorry to say but I think that there’s a bold line between porn and horror, baby.

And yeah, I say several. Why ? Because I personally miss the late 1990s & early 2000s local movie era. Mention some good local films we had on that era. Petualangan Sherina, Pasir Berbisik, Ada Apa Dengan Cinta and I am pretty sure to say that you guys might agree to lift up your thumb to that movies, don’t you ?

Indonesia got so many good movie directors and scriptwriters, just so you know. As we know Garin Nugroho, Jujur Prananto, Mira Lesmana, Joko Anwar, Monty Tiwa and I’m sure there are so many good local movie directors that I don’t know yet. They produced so many good movies, good story plot, good cinematography & good message on the movie and that’s what are we missing on our movie industry right now. I grew up on late 1990s, I watched Petulangan Sherina with my childhood friends, we laughed, we smiled, we learned a good essence about how important friendship from that movie. The story is pretty simple on that movie, but the message behind the movie is very important and pretty touching.

And now, try to move forward. I grew up now and seeing that stupid local movie title on the posters; Arwah Goyang Krawang, Suster Keramas, what else ? What I think ? What kind of entertainment education that I could give to my kids in the future if they keep producing this kind of porn-horror movie genres ? What makes it worst, I’m thinking about the kids who are growing up just now, they got their entertainment education by watching the Avatar with 3D glasses attached on their faces. Now, if the country stopped importing international movies ? What can I give to my kids on the future ?

International film is one of a good education to improve an English skill, in my opinion. Watching a movie with no subtitle on the screen can improve your English skill. At least that what I’m doing when I have nothing to do in front of my laptop, borrow a DVD, set it with no subtitle and watch it.

Indonesia is a good clown. I just couldn’t imagine how many countries would laugh at us if they know that we stop airing international movies—or may be I personally dumb, because I write this post in English, peoples worldwide would visit my blog and laugh at my country. I don’t mind, this is how I show my dissapointment to my country. I feels like living in a country that contains with so many idiotic governorance

I just don’t know why who got an idea to stop distribute the international movie ? OK, I personally not a movie freak but please, I don’t want to watch Harry Potter only for 6 and a half times. I want to complete it 7 times on a theatre. I grew up with Harry Potter, I always watched it in a big screen and suddenly, just because those stupid thing, I have to watch the last half part of it in a single DVD which I personally think that it’s a big no.

Its not funny though to some of Indonesian billionaires out there like seriously, they could book a flight to Singapore to watch The Reborn of Johnny English by the end of this year. And if there’s a Singaporean passing by and asking, “Hey why don’t you guys just watch the movie on your country ?” and shouldn’t it be an epic joke to them if you answer “ Yeah, our country stop distributing international movie, and that is the reason why are we here.” Funny, though ?

Indonesian custom department might not think about the post effect of banning international movies, perhaps ? What could they expect from XXI & Blitz Megaplex ? Bankruptcy for the win ! Now, they got the income mostly from international movies; 3D or flat screen . I’m pretty sure that there are only a few peoples who wants to spend their money to watch Pocong Perkosa Kuntilanak or Arwah Goyang Krawang or any other shits out there.

So dear Indonesia, I can’t count how many times you dissapoint me by your silly civilians’ regulation. Indonesia is sick, but no one could heal the ill just like an HIV/AIDS patient. At the end, am sorry for being un-nationalist kinda betray my own country, Indonesia. But this is how I show my dissapointment. Get well soon, Indonesia.

As we know, fashion industry is wide. And sometimes I see fashion as an art, I see fashion as an inspiration, I see fashion as a beauty, I see there's a unique diversity in fashion and I love all fashion style.

I can say, each continents has its own fashion style or I can say a fashion diversity. I love European fashion, I love African fashion, I love Asian fashion. I love French Vogue, I love Brazillian Vogue, I love Korean Vogue. I see diversity and it ends with a unity.

And now, I would like to share my 2 favourite inspirational young man from my continent, Asia. Introducing, Karl Leuterio and Quan Mai.

Karl Leuterio from Inkarlcerating

This 23 years old Karl Leuterio comes from the city of Manila, Philippines. I've been following his blog since early 2010 and seriously, I adore his personal style. Very androgynous yet he still keep his masculinity, very complicated yet he keep the elegant side at the same time.

I adore his ring collections, shoes and his DIY works. One of my favourite thing he did on his DIY work is when he put a real blood to his white T-Shirt and he shred it. Thats such a crazy out of the box idea. Very genious.

His shoes collections are epic. Confessed for having a shoegasm so-called, this 5'4" tall fashionisto rocked his androgynous look with various uber cool wedges and heels.

Quan Mai from Geneticboi

This 23 years old Quan Mai is originally from Vietnam. But he moved to US since 1998. I've been following his blog since late of 2009, since he had his bowl haircut on his head until he got his hair blonde now.

I admire him. I love how he play with color combination in every single outfit he wore & I'm pretty sure that Joan Rivers would love to see him walking on the street. And when he posed a jumping shots since 2010 started until now, I'm a fan of him more and more and more like seriously.

Quan Mai is such a good young artist, fashion expert on the go, illustrator, art student, what's more ? He's an awesome full package of art. And since I knew that he's an art student, I really love to see lots of his artworks he put on his Facebook & blog. His artworks are epic & very inspirative for myself. Fabulous art instinct of Quan Mai.

Hmmm, may I see that God put His good product through this 2 young man ? Perhaps. Keep inspiring me, Karl & Quan. Damn, I should have to be proud to be Asian :)

This is my first post on 2011. I don't have much things to share except this photo concept; inspired by a quote from a Muslim African-American activist named Malcolm X. He fight the discrimination on black peoples and his quote is inspiring me to make this photo concept.

Nothing much to say but as a civilian who lives in a tropical country, I think its pretty common for chocolate skin. But there are quite much Indonesians who wants their skin tone much lighter, spending their money with those whitening cream.

This is my personal point of view but hello, Indonesian ? Don't you realize that there are so many Caucasians out there spent so many bucks to get a skin tone like we already get since we were born ? So please, just be proud of it and working on it. Having a dark skin is not a sin. Thats what God gives you; so you just have to work on it and be blessed :-)

Nikicio Femme Resort 2011 - The White Oleander

Indonesian uprising fashion line Nikicio is launching its latest resort collection inspired by a film called The White Oleander. I got a chance to watched the fashion show last night. And here is my personal review

There are total 19 looks on the collections (Well, I snapped total 19 looks on my camera. If there's an incorrect information, feel free to notice me). The color pallete in this collection is much dominated by earthy colors like black, white, brown and the others.

The ethnic pattern is added in the short sleeve dress with achromatic palletes. The long dress is just great with the small details on its surface and the long dress could produce some good silhouette to everyone who wear it.

I see somekind of simplicity on this collection like a full black long dress and navy blue sleeveless dress with a Babushka look with a fabric attached on the model's head to complete the look. Notable accessories is could be the unique travel bag that the Causian model used. Its just cute and pretty edgy, in my opinion.

At last, if we see in previous collection and see much of plain colors on the collection, this resort collection is different. Nina Nikicio's inspiration from a film "The White Oleander" makes this collection is like more mature, edgy and good sense of feminity.

There are total 8 models who walked on the runway and I notice some models like Kelly Tandiono, Sima Bazhanova and Prinka Cassy. They walked well during the show.

After party, that's such a good event. I met bunch of great peoples, bloggers, fashionistas, you name it. I also met the designer herself Ms. Nina Nikicio and she looks good on her black outfit.

Yes, I finally met Kelly and telling her that I am the artist who sketched her face that she used on her Facebook profile and she thanked me (If you don't know, click here for the full story). I'm so happy to met Kelly and she's very humble indeed :-)

Oh, and a little bit narcissistic. If I'm not wrong, Kelly stands at height of 5'8" (1.73 m) and Mikael Jasin stands at height of 5'11.5" (1.81 m) on his ModelMayhem profile. And I am stands the height of 5'11" (1.80 m), so I do counted as tall, ah ? Oh please modeling agency, hire me. I want another modeling job after Ego Fashion Line :P

I seldom to post my university work here, but the latest assignment of my major is quite interesting though, we are about to design an editorial layout spread of a magazine. And of course, I choose fashion themed for my work, I choose Nikicio as my main news.

After that, I just made a faux news about Nikicio because the lecturers would just score the layout anatomy and my final test for the Visual Communication Design II subject (kalo anak DKV Binus, disingkat nya DKV II) is going to be designing a full magazine. Well, time will show me what would it be.

Kelly Loves My Work

This is shocking. An Indonesian model Kelly Tandiono used my sketch of her that I've posted on my Tumblr as her profile picture. She didn't even asked for my permission but whatever, as long as she keeps my watermark on her profile picture, I got my watermark on my work and I feel so honored :-)

Kelly Tandiono is an Indonesian fashion model who flew overseas and what I know about her is, she signed in one modeling agency in New York City and London. She's awesome and that was my pure random sketch I drew, that's a messy artwork but .. Well, I'm just happy. Could I be a fashion illustrator, perhaps ? Well, I'll keep it on my mind. Hahahaha :P

Weird Science of Visual Communication Design

So, I've been watching this major for about a year and hmm, may be this note is just random but I just want to share my thoughts

1. Effort stands in same proportion with score in certain situation

2. Good concept, but you just don't know how to transform it to your piece of work is same with nothing

3. Sometimes you make a good concept for assistancy and what makes it sucks is, the lecturers are usually refuse it

4. And you will see that, your most random assistancy work that you wish the lecturers wouldn't pick, they PICK it

5. Artwork stands in diverse proportion with cummulative GPA in certain situation

6. Plagiarism is actually prohibited, but sometimes peoples changed the name of "plagiarism" with "inspiration". Do you know how to separate those things ?

7. Over confident students that thinks their artwork is good, usually got bad mark

8. Lecturer's mind VS Student's mind --> 180 degrees different // Well, this more into personal experience. But it happened to me on some of my artwork assistancies

9. Simplicity could brings you to a glory

10. No matter how awesome your design tools are; pen tablet, iPad, laptop & so on. I think we always come back into a piece of paper

Reevo Saulus for "Ego" by Geofanny Tambunan

And here I go, I finally use my height gift for a better thing; my first modeling experience for a newborn fashion line by ex-kids singer Geofanny Tambunan (if you grew up at 1990's, you might notice him singing paired with Saskia) called Ego.

Now, Ego is running its first collection called "Ocean, Earth and Sky". OK, here are the lookbook and the fashion spread; try to spot me, then :-)

May be some of my readers are asking me, why don't you apply for some modeling agency here in Jakarta ? Hmm, really ? Well, I only have height. I'm 5'11". But I do have an average face look But for now, I'm happy because I've touched this industry :-)

Logotype

In one side, it is great to be a visual design student because you can express yourself through your work and you are having so much things to learn. And a subject that steal my heart so bad is Typography. Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, type designing and so on. If you guys think that Typography is an easy subject to because you just play with letters, type it and you easily gain A, I'm sorry peoples but you're technically wrong. Hehehe

So, this is my first Typography assignment on this semester, a personal logo design. The lecturer choose my name initial "RVO" as my basic element on my logotype. Afterall, it is back to my design preference. Mine is simplicity. So I choose Helvetica Neue Ultra Light as my main font to modify. I just cut the font and flip it 180 degrees.

And after that, I just realized that I can flip my logo because you will read "RVO" no matter from which side you read it. Thank God I gained good score for this project. Next project is about to be stationary design and I feel excited. Lecturers told us to make our own design of our personal name card. Hell yeah !

So, this is a small example how I use my logo to my simple work. And actually the lecturer criticize me about the gray color on my logo, its a bit too light. I do admit it but I just feel comfortable with the color combination of my logo.

The Amazing Race Asia 4 Gathering

So, its been almost 2 years since the last time we (The Amazing Race Asia- TARA fans) did a gathering with the racers because the absence of Indonesian teams on previous season of TARA.

And finally, season 4 started and Indonesia got 2 representative teams. They are best friends Hilyani Hidranto & Nadine Zamira and Dad-daughter Hussein and Natasha Sutadisastra

But unfortunately, luck didn't stand near Yani & Nadine's side so they are the first team to be out from the race. But no problem, we had a good conversation with them because they are superbly friendly to us. So here are the photographs

New York Fashion Week Spring 2011

New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 has started. So many good designers showing off their collections. I have some personal favourite designers for this season

Michael Kors

As you guys know that I always love color match playing on each design and for this season, Michael Kors got my attention for such a great color schemes he used.

He play with earthy colors as we see on grass, stone, soil, sand, dirt, flower; green, white, gray, light gray, brown and yellow. The design is purely simple and minimalistic and that is my favourite. He also combined his design with a huge sling bag and its beyond cute in my opinion

Prabal Gurung

This young talented Nepalese designer is totally good at match the colors. He used basic primary colors like red, yellow, blue and neutral colors like black and white on his collections. He also added some asymmetrical shapes on his designs and it reminds me of the 70s design collection of Yves Saint Laurent

Lacoste

What I really love from Lacoste is first, the designers loves using dark skinned model and let them wear a contrast outfit on their skin, which means the result is so stunning, just take a look at Ataui Deng wearing those sporty white outfit and she looks shimmering on that outfit. I really like

Lacoste loves to play with bright colors with sporty outfit designs on each look but for this season's collections, we can see there are several cute dresses, Jodhpur pants and yet, it is still classy.

Jason Wu

This is another young Asian talented fashion designers. Jason Wu opened his show collections with a transparent bow top and a high waist trousers. I personally think that his color palettes aren't as good as Prabal Gurung and Michael Kors did.

But one thing that steals my attention on Wu's design is the trousers and also the high waist trousers. It looks very good and it elongated the models leg and I really love it and he brings some floral touch on his dress which makes a hilarious details on each dresses

Hello ! Reevo Saulus is back from hectic real life. My apology for the lack of update. So, what I did lately ? Thank God because finally, I can be a little bit productive by using my design knowledge. I made some random projects such as logo designing for an online shop & photo retouching.

I also made new babies and they are a canvas bag and self designed printed T-Shirt.

Nah, this one is my pure personal project. As I wrote on my past Facebook status, I wrote "I don't open my zipper pants for a business". I actually wrote it on my Facebook status to mock some undiscovered bitches and butches out there and I feels like it is going to be good if I put some creativity on it and make a product based on my Facebook status.

So I play with typography and some zipper illustration and the design is done. Once the design is done, I go to the T Shirt printing shop to make it real. And ta-da, this is my second baby. This is a unisex design (but I put a female model on the photo, its okay. It fits in man also) and actually it fits in any sizes.

And I think I would be happier if you guys wants to buy my baby, I put a standard price for this T Shirt. If you are interested, feel free to contact me. No hesitation :)

Yep, Reevo Saulus is back. Sorry for the lack of updates, I just enjoying my holiday so good hahaha. Oh ya, happy Ramadhan, peoples !

Well, I had my very first serious modeling photo set yesterday. And I got helped from my good friend Daniel as the model. This actually a sudden photo session. I actually plans to do the photo session next week because D's academy will start its day off next week, and I'm okay. But everything turns back when D texted me and asking me to do the photo session just now because he's free. I was like okay, I'm ready. I called Saras to borrow her house as my photo session location and seriously, this was suddenly happens and it flows smooth like a water

I do have problems. First, modeling shot with female model is uncountable, male model is rare. So I go with male model and D helped me. Second, D is a military student which is that stands in inversion with modeling, so there will be another challenge to direct him to pose in front of camera. Third, D stands in height of 168 cm which means, he's petite. Another challenge for me because I gotta make him looked like a 183 cm tall fashion model. Fourth, I do choose D because he's well shaped. Most of the shoots inspirations comes from Usher.

Then, what can I do with my limited camera tool kit ? I got standard lens and a standard DSLR camera, also my lovely MacBook Pro are my best friends for my projects. Yep, this is a thrifting photo session. I don't have to rent a model from an agency because I do have my friend, why don't I use him ? I don't have to rent a photo studio. A quite wide white wall is enough for me. And last but not least, Adobe products would help

Photo sessions starts and my challenge shows up. Its in between hard and easy to transform a military student in to a fashion model, just be patient in pose directing. Simple, yet classy. And ta-da, you can enjoy the photo set titled ''Navy Troop'' on my Facebook account. That's just simple, minimalist, but I'm hoping that you could see my works as a good works

Because I am working on my imperfections, and simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Thats my personal philosophy I keep on my mind. Thanks for the thumbs and comments for this personal project, and I would love to be better in the upcoming works :)

But suddenly my childhood mate's Mom is calling my Mom and asking us to go together to Bali. I was like, oh okay. Change the direction, fly to Bali ! Gap's Simplicity

Well, Gap is one of my favourite denim fashion brand along with Uniqlo. I love Gap because its just simple, because I personally loves simplicity and color matching. And I gotta say that Gap choose a very good color palette on its collections

Just take a look at the F/W 09 campaign, all is just simple outfit. Just like a daily outfit but I love the color palette. Blue related colors. My favourite looks of this campaign are Noah Mills because its a total simple; A jeans & a t-shirt and done. The other one is Anja Rubik, the look is also a total simple and all the denims look great on her skinny body, though

I personally love Gap because I love the garment. My Dad is a sailorman and when he sails overseas, he always give me shirts, jeans, you name it. He give me Gap denim jacket when I was 16 and the jacket was oversized. And now the jacket is fit to my body hahaha. Lucky me :)

World Vision Indonesia // part 2

OK now, the part 2 of my story about World Vision Indonesia. For this post, I'll share you guys what we did and where we go.

DAY 1

Well, we introduce ourself today and meet with 250 participants all over Indonesia, meet with the peoples, and the other mentors

DAY 2

In day 2, we separated by several groups. Me, Agus and Atmaja went to Bogor Organic Center located near Puncak. The place is very very nice with a very great weather which is quite hard to find in Jakarta, so I enjoyed this so much :)

DAY 3

Day 3 was a "day off" for Me, Atmaja, Agus, Neelam, Stephanie and Jane. We're so tired after our long journey to Puncak in the previous day so we decided to take a day off. And what the heck were we doing was; Me, Atmaja and Agus plays table tennis with our lecturer, kak James on the afternoon. But its a nice experience, though ;)

On the night, we watched the theatre rehearsal on the cottage lobby. Love the Saman dance rehearsal ! :D

DAY 4

Day 4 is really the highlight of our outdoor photography. We went to Jimbaran Resto in Ancol to watch the kite festival and this is also the part of the event. A little bit free time for the photography mentor, we take the free time to fulfill our DSLR memory card with our narcissistic photography. Uh huh, we're just human being hahaha

DAY 5

Day 5, the final. Theatre performance, dances and so many more at Usmar Ismail building in Kuningan area, I'm not sure though. So I consider this day is the highlight for our indoor photography

In the end, what a great working trip we had. Meeting with new friends from all over Indonesia, literally is such a very unvaluable experience. And my personal words for the Papuan, you guys are truly inspired me, indeed. Go forward my lovely Papua because I'm sure that someday, Indonesia needs you :')

World Vision Indonesia // part 1

Okay, peoples ! Reevo Saulus is back from duty !

Well yeah, as I said on my previous post, I went to Bogor and around West Java with my 9 friends as a photography mentor for World Vision Indonesia. Such a great experience. But for this post, I would love to share you guys about my own favourite photographs I took during the working trip and my new great great friends from Eastern Indonesia :)

This is my personal favourite photo because all of the people on this photo looks so happy and full of passion when the percussion plays the Papuan traditional song, Yamko Rambe Yamko on the 4th day of the event at Jimbaran, Ancol

This is Edo, a little boy from Jayapura, Papua. But he isn't like a Papuan at all. As we know, the typical of Papuan has dark chocolate skin and Edo hasn't. I asked him, "are you real Papuan ?". and he answeredm "Yes, I am. My Dad is from Jayapura and my Mom is half Javanese-half Papuan". Got it, I can say that this crazy child is biracial hahaha

Yep, this Acehnese little boy plays a Gendang while performing a 1000 hands dance (Saman Dance), Acehnese traditional dance

To be honest, this is a cropped photograph. I do think that the photo could be better if I crop and focused it to the Papuan girl and let her shine on her traditional outfit combined with black background. I just love her facial expression on this pic

And now, meet my new friends from Eastern Indonesia ! Oh, and my personal reason why I love the Eastern Indonesian participants on the event are, I love their spirit. They have a big passion to study, and they are very friendly with the other participants and the mentors. Thats why, Eastern Indonesia, especially Papua and Nusa Tenggara rocks my day during the trip :)

Frankie, 19 years old medical student from Wamena, Papua. This boy is one of the most memorable participant for myself (along with Ibenus and Jefron). Believe it or not, this boy speaks ENGLISH VERY WELL ! He cames to the mentor table while the trip on Jimbaran Resto and talked with my friend (and also the mentor) Dinan. And when I hear him speaks English fluently, I was damn shock. I mean, he lives in Wamena and he speaks English very fluent and least of grammatical error

Frankie currently study medical in Wamena, taught by native teacher from Netherlands and he also speaks Dutch even just a little. He must be very smart in Wamena. Seriously, this guys rock !

Meet Jefron and Ibenus, both also from Wamena. The left one is Jefron, a little boy who walked about 10 kilometers EVERYDAY to go to school. He says, there is no public transportation so they just walk to go to school. How touching :')

And in the middle is Ibenus. A 6th grader with so much energy with a very very friendly attitude to me and the other mentors. Same with Jefron, he walks about 10 kilometers everyday to go to school

This is Fia and she's from Wamena. She is currently in the 7th grade. She is very quiet. And I just love her attitude. I took this photo after the theatre show is over. She's crying because she don't want to leave the whole event and the other friends. I call her, try to remove the tears and take a shot with me. She's very adorable :)

This is Desy, an 11th grader from Rote, East Nusa Tenggara. She also cried after the show is over because she is very happy with all of the peoples on the events. And she dance very well

This is Yakob, an 11th grader from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. This boy is also shocking. I missed the theater rehearsal and I didn't know what he can do. I was thinking that this boy is just an ordinary participants. But suddenly he comes out to the stage and he sings. Dang ! His voice is EPIC ! He performed with an Ukulele in his hands and I'm amazed on his talent. Literally !

Russian Flying Trapeze

I actually plans to watch the show with my Brazillian Capoeira instructor and my Capoeira friends, but we postpone the plan because my instructor is about to teach that time. So I plan to go watch it today after the Capoeira class is done and again, my instructor is going to teach again so I go alone. They perform in the middle of the plaza which is a good concept

And yeah, I effingly want to watch it and capture their wonderful movements but too bad that the officer didn't let us to use camera flash to freeze their movements. Here are the some of the shots

OK, a good news with me and my DKV friends. Me, Agus, Atmaja, Stephanie, Jane and Neelam applied as a mentor for World Vision Indonesia program that will be held in Bogor, Jakarta and beyond for about a week.

The program is more into take care about Indonesian kids, 200 students from all over Indonesia-Aceh to Papua. Cool, huh ?. We'll mentoring them how to teach a pocket camera and so many more. What makes us more excited is, we are about to have a visit to Indonesian President's wife, Mrs. Ani Yudhoyono and do some presentation there. Oh please, let this be really happens !

So, I may not update my blog about a week, unless I have internet connection in Bogor because I choose to not bring my laptop there. I only bring my camera. So, do wish us (me and my friends) luck, readers :)

I was like, oh okay thank you. But what makes me shock, Christian overtake the phone call to Nikita Willy herself and let her to talk to me. I was like, excuse me ? A celebrity has just calling me on my cellphone ? Hmm, kinda surreal but thats totally a good thing. And good news, Nikita invites me to come to her birthday party in Indochine, fX.

So, before the D-Day is come, I ask my friend, Onky to come with me. Because there are some reason why I choose Onky as my partner on the party. First, he is very humble, he dressed well, and Kat only give me 1 extra ticket for the party guest lists. Do understand it, close friends. Thanks

Its been 4 months since Alexander McQueen's death, and Sarah Burton is the new successor of Alexander McQueen. Well, what can I say is, the designs are little bit far from my expectation. It is very far from McQueen's out of the box designs. The latest designs are more in to simple and so Burberry Prorsum.

First time I hear about his death, I do really think that Gareth Pugh would be his successor and unfortunately he's not. Because I see similiarity with McQueen's and Pugh's designs, I do really think that Pugh is going to be his successor.

So, this week is about to be .. Questions, questions and questions

First, last Sunday is my first open Roda on Capoeira. I battled twice, once against my Capoeira instructor and the second one, I battled against a well builded man from other Grupo (Portuguese. Means "group" in English). My first performance went quite well, actually. But, I just want to ask one thing, are they play like that ? Well, this actually my personal question :)

Second, I figured out my scores for this semester's mid term test. Well, its quite satisfying. So far I got C for DKV I, I got B for English and A for Photography. And what makes me quite shock. I can say that my scores is much like inversed with the toughness level (Sorry for the bad English, I hope you understand what I am trying to say).

For example, I don't really take serious about Photography mid term test to be honest, I prefer to work in logic on the case-study question on Photography. But I don't know that my score is higher that I expect. I feel thankful because I got A, I jumped ecstatically when I knew I got A. This is shocking

Instead, I got C for DKV I. And what makes it worst, I did the artwork seriously because I know that my manual work is not that good, thats why I have to work seriously on DKV I mid term test, and what I get ? C score. I just ... Argh, I don't get it. Why ?

I'm tired of working in manual, please come digital. I'm begging ..

OK guys, I'm so happy to write it. Just so you know, I just watched an Indonesian movie that I've been waiting for almost a year ! Imagine ! So, what is the movie ? The movie title is Cin(T)a.

Yeah, I've wrote a post last year about this film (click here) and hell yeah, after a loooong long long waiting, I have a chance to watch this film. Actually this film had released here in Jakarta (this film is originally released first in London) but there was a certain theatre played this movie.

And todaaaay, I got the VCD and I absolutely watch it. I never have a huge curiousity about Indonesian film before, I told ya. But this film is totally brings my curiousity in to the next level because this film is very unique

The film's main theme is much like how can we handle the diversity around us. And this film has a brave for bringing God as the main "character". Cina, an 18 years old Christian man with Chinese descent met Annisa, a 24 years old Muslim woman. They had a short relationship on the film and it portrays how do they respect each other's religious views.

Last year, I've watched the trailer and I feel so so curious to watch. And now, I've watched it. And wow, this film is very well concepted, very creative and unique. This film is bringing the diversity theme without any hesitations at all. 2 thumbs up for the creative director and the casts, Sunny Soon (which is actually my senior on my campus. He already gained a Bachelor of Arts on my department, Visual Communication Design. Proud of you kak Sunny ! :D ) and Saira Jihan acts very well

Oh please don't be bored because I post Capoeira related stuffs. But this is what I did for the Graphic Computer's latest assignment, and my class' theme is "the twin fighting". And again, coincidencely, I have to put Capoeira things on my assignment.

Yes, both pictures are me. Me in the left is doing esquiva lateral and me in the right side is doing quexada. Well its not really like I'm doing quexada on the photograph, but I really did it. Blame the photographer. Haha, kidding

Me and my good friend, Agus went to Senayan at 11.00 AM and I start to do the photograph at 11.30 AM. As you know that Capoeira is way better to play without any sandals or shoes. So I have to take off those things from my foots. Unfortunately, I played on a floor and the sun shone rudely, the floor condition was soooooooo fucking hot because the sun reflection and radiation.

I actually wants to get enough sunshine so I don't have to edit the picture too much on Photoshop. And what I got, my foot skin RIPPED OFF in 4 places and it was damn hurted. My Capoeira friends who attend last Sunday may notice there were so many plasters and band aid covered my foot. And this is all because of this assignment.

What I want for now is only a good score. I'm begging. I sacrifice my foot skin till ripped 4 times for this assignment, Kak James please kasih A yaa hahaha ngarep ! Gapapa deh AMIN !

Ya, I had a haircut. In the middle of the deadlines. Its quite an extreme haircut because I never buzzed off my hair like this "short"

He Saved My Assignment for the Second Time

This is still related to my photography assignment. I'm having 4 Photography assignments; Short Depth of Field (Short DoF) , Long Depth of Field (Long DoF), Freeze and Movement.

For Short DoF, I play safe with capturing a flower as the objects. Long DoF, I play with architectural scenery. Movement, I capture a car light on the night. What about freeze ? This is the unique one. You have to capture a fast object.

But the lecturer told us that, try to capturing an unusual thing, you throw a stone up in the air and you freeze the shot ? Thats so ordinary, try to be unusual. So next, what can I do ?

I remember that I use my friend Daniel and his Capoeira skill for my final project of Character Building last semester (you can see the post here). And for this time, I'm about to use him for the second time for my Photography assignment

Yes, I'll capturing his Capoeira movement and freeze it on my camera (of course with my DSLR, thank God ! LOL). I do thinks that this concept is quite "out of the box" and again, I play with Capoeira things. Oh come on, this martial art is interesting ! (little secret, I've joined Capoeira for about 2 months on grupo Bantus Indonesia. Just lets see what can I do on the next few months hehehe)

So now, I'll show you my "best" freeze shot. I took the photograph twice. In the evening and in the morning

I Have a New Toy

A ha. Another post from me. Just want to share you guys about the random things I got lately. Yah, I feel a bit free this semester. OK, here we go

1. I'm a big fan of Digimon Adventure. I admire this anime since I was at the 4th grade until now I'm in the 2nd semester on the University. This anime is very unique and creative. And yesterday, I just knew that Kozhiro Izumi is actually an adopted boy on the story (you can watch it here). I only knew that Yamato and Takeru's parents were divorced, but about Kozhiro's problem, I just knew it yesterday night. Yes, I'd love to watch Digimon on YouTube :)

2. Taylor Lautner. Oh my God, this young boy; since the first time I saw him on NewMoon, I was like DANG ! He's just turning 18 years old this year and he has a very very well builded body. I have no idea how often he went to gym and hit those fitness set.

Its just so surreal. Look at his sixpack abs ! Oh well, though I still keep thinking that his abs is purely a make up shade. No envy at all, but its just unbelievable for 18 years old young man to get a very well builded body like Lautner has

3. I'm craving for 13 inches Apple MacBook Pro and a DSLR camera. Well, I need it. Not because I want it. This major is very expensive. So shit. Dad is still sailing. Last time he called me, he told me he's in Tokyo and about to cross the sea to Busan, South Korea. Again, I envy him for this case.

But please, Dad. You told you that you will give me those gears in the end of this month. Am hoping so

4. Yuri Pleskun, is the male model that I really liked lately. I just don't know why, but its kinda like that its going to be easy to find him on the crowded place. He has the unique look, the cheekbone, the face, the centered lips position. Such a beauty !

5. I just signed up on Nokia Ovi Store application and wow, I can download so many good applications and themes direct from my cellphone. Haha. For now I love my cellphone. I even have the Skype application on my Nokia and it works !

6. Another women that I adore lately is Eva Herzigova's picture on V Magazine fall 2008 issue. She looks so fresh at her age now. She might be 36 or 37 years old now

7. Its been almost a month since I changed my glasses. My un-synchronized hypermethropia on my eyes is not a good thing. Minus 2 for left eyes and minus 0.5 for right eyes. I feel a bit uncomfortable when I take my glasses off. Poor me :(

8. This is it, the silliest college assignment so far in my opinion; A magazine cover project. You gotta design a magazine cover using your own photograph, your own headlines, your own fresh concept and your own magazine title. So, my concept is (of course) a fashion magazine with a touch of Indonesia of course

Yo guys, feel free to vomit after you read those lame headline and my oh-so-shit-kampret-amit-amit-banget-gila-tau-gak-sih-lo face. But I extremely having fun with this assignment. Just pretending that I'm an Indonesian top model and acted like being 100 times on the magazine cover.

The most embarassing moment I have to face was when I have to print this to the photo studio. That was total embarassment to the officer. Literally

Yap, Saturday. I went to Blok M to re-fix my glasses and when I got home, I did a webcam chat session with my high school friend, Naisha

And do you notice that I wore a plain T Shirt with a black pattern on my left shoulder ? Hmm, this T Shirt is one of my project so far. I am painting on a plain white T-Shirt with a permanent marker.

But wait, I wasn't done it yet

So. While webcam-ing, I finish my project. I changed my clothes in to a green V neck first and draw my white T-Shirt

Hell yeah I'm done. A pattern inspiration from nirmana datar assignment last semester. So I just draw it on my T-Shirt and I think its quite cool, though *self confident*

Me and my group for Photography assignment went to Ragunan Zoo to do our assignment, photo hunting so-called. I looked at my friend's camera lens which is a telephoto lens.

And hey, I asked him for freeze my movement and what I got ?

I just feels like I'm a professional gymnast/martial art/whatsoever athlete on this photograph and I like it somehow LMAO

Bumi Kita Sudah Tua

Ya, gue tau Chile gempa dari Twitter. Dan gempa nya bener bener gak terkira. 8.8 skala richter. Pas gue liat nominal angka nya, gue kaget sekaget kaget nya dan di benak gue saat itu adalah film 2012. Gue inget banget ada scene di film 2012 dimana Amerika kena gempa 9.1 SR. Dan scene itu hampir terjadi di kejadian nyata, 8.8 SR. Gempa nya berlangsung 90 detik. Bisa kalian bayangin temen temen ?

Pas gue sampe rumah, gue langsung ambil channel dan gue ganti ke BBC Knowledge. Dan ya, breaking news tentang gempa di Chile. Dan banyak fakta fakta yang gue dapet dengan nonton breaking news itu .

1) Gempa nya 8.8 SR, dan berlangsung selama kurang lebih 90 detik di pusat kota Concepcion, Chile. Gempa ini merupakan gempa terbesar di sepanjang sejarah umat manusia (sumber : BBC Knowledge)

2) Bandara di kota Santiago ditutup selama kurang lebih 72 jam gara gara gempa ini

3) Beberapa detik setelah gempa selesai, seluruh media komunikasi di Chile putus. Gue bener bener gak ngerti gimana cara orang2 yang kehilangan anggota keluarga mereka. Oh God :(

Gue denger juga tentang saksi mata yang bicara sama reporter BBC Knowledge nya. Salah satu statement yang bikin gue merinding dari saksi mata nya :

"I was on the street when the quake is on, and what I see is, the buildings are totally dancing up in the air"

Ya, si saksi mata bilang kalo dia bisa liat gedung gedung bergerak di udara. Yaialah, gempa segede itu dan jangka waktu nya yang lama itu gimana gak bikin gedung gedung bergerak di udara ? Demi Tuhan untuk saat ini gue merinding sendiri.

So, pemikiran gue dari kejadian ini bisa gue bagi dalam 2 sisi, sisi agama dan sisi sains. Gue tau karena agama dan sains adalah 2 hal yang sama hal nya seperti air dan minyak. Tapi untuk yang ini gue lebih tertarik untuk ngomongin sains nya. Gue bukan anak IPA, tapi gue pikir gue cukup mengerti tentang ini dari berita berita yang gue tonton di TV dan pengetahuan lain yang gue baca di internet. Bukannya mau sok sok an, tapi gue cukup concern tentang hal ini.

Gue bukan ahli geografi, apalagi ahli bumi. Tapi gue cukup tau kalo di bawah bumi kita, dibawah lautan kita itu terdapat lempeng lempeng apalah itu gue gak ngerti karena keterbatasan pengetahuan gue. Kita juga harus inget kalo bumi kita udah cukup tua, lempeng lempeng bumi juga seenaknya bergerak kesana kemari.

Contoh nya aja gempa di Indonesia itu disebabkan sama pergeseran lempeng. Untuk saat ini Indonesia agak kurang beruntung karena mempunyai letak geografis yang tepat dibawah pertemuan 2 lempeng, makanya sering gempa.

Dan sepertinya di benua Amerika ini juga ada pertemuan antara 2 lempeng. Bisa kita lihat gempa di Haiti yang memakan korban banyak. Gue sebenernya agak kaget juga pas denger Haiti kena gempa. Ya, Haiti tuh pulau kecil di kepulauan Karibia yang sangat jauh di pikiran gue untuk kena gempa, eh tau nya malah kena. Only God knows.

Nah, tadi sore gue makin kaget. Chile gempa. 8.8 skala richter. kurang lebih 90 detik. Gedung pencakar langit sangat terlihat jelas bergerak di udara (sumber saksi mata yang gue tonton di BBC Knowledge).

Sebenernya ada apa dengan bumi kita ? Segitu tua renta nya ya bumi kita sampe lempeng lempeng dasar bumi nya harus bergerak kesana kemari dan kita sebagai manusia yang terkena dampak nya ?

Gue adalah tipe orang yang menganggap ramalan itu adalah hal yang biasa biasa saja, gue gak terlalu ambil serius. Tapi untuk hal yang satu ini, gue gak yakin tahun 2o12 nanti bakalan aman aman aja. Mikir logika aja sekarang, tahun 2009 udah banyak banget bencana terjadi di Indonesia dan belahan dunia lain. Sekarang tahun 2010. Banjir bandang di Polandia, gempa di Haiti, dan sekarang gempa terbesar di dunia terjadi di Chile.

Inget, ini baru awal tahun 2010. Apa lagi yang terjadi di 2 tahun ke depan ? Apakah visualisasi film 2012 akan bener bener terjadi di kehidupan nyata ? Apa Yellowstone National Park bener bener akan jadi gersang ? Apa teluk Florida bener bener bakal terangkat dan tenggelam ? Gak ada yang tahu.

Yang pasti, dengan melihat keadaan alam bumi saat ini, pemanasan global makin merajalela, lapisan ozon di bumi makin tipis, sinar ultra violet masuk bebas ke bumi.

Apa lagi ? Salju di puncak Jaya Wijaya Irian udah gak ada, gunung es di kutub Utara dan Selatan pada mencair dan menyebabkan kenaikan air laut, negara kepulauan Maladewa terancam hilang satu persatu pulau nya, pulau pulau kecil di Indonesia udah mulai hilang satu persatu gara gara kenaikan permukaan air laut gara2 pemanasan global, penebangan hutan makin marak dan ilegal, oksigen pun otomatis pasti berkurang karena pohon pohon pada ditebang seenak jidat sama manusia gak bertanggung jawab, dan suhu dunia pun mengalami kenaikan dan gue ngerasain banget.

Perlu lagi bukti ? Liat aja beberapa minggu belakangan. Cuaca gak menentu. Siang bisa panas, sore bisa hujan. Musim pun udah gak beraturan, tsunami pun masih mengancam. Apalagi yang akan datang ? Intinya, manusia cukup berperan banyak dalam "pengrusakan bumi" kita kok. OK, gue gak mau munafik, gue manusia biasa, gue juga secara gak langsung merusak bumi, kalian juga, kan ? No offense, friends. But please be objective. Thank you

Well, sampe di akhir pemikiran gue. Gue cuma bilang, bumi kita udah tua. "Onderdil" nya pun juga udah cukup capek melakukan rotasi terus menerus. Mungkin gak Tuhan marah sama kita gara gara kita gak begitu bisa menjaga segala pemberianNya ?

I feel insecure about this semester's Drawing subject because its getting tougher and tougher for me because I have a limited drawing skill, and thats why I keep practice it.

And one more, my senior lecturer told my class, a quote. Because he felt insecure about my class, there are many of my friends got the short semester for drawing class.

"Mau ditaro dimana muka kalian kalau sebagai Sarjana Seni saja kalian gak bisa gambar ?"

or in English we can say it as ..

"Where'd you could put your face if as a Bachelor of Arts, you even couldn't draw ?"

Thats so motivate me to keep practice. Am hoping I could do better. Amen

I have a new friend for my eyes

Hello, readers !

Doin' good ?

OK, for this update, I just want to share to you guys about what happened to me lately. Here we go

1) Dad is gone to Tokyo, Japan. As you might knows that my Dad is a sailor. He traveled everywhere across the Globe and for now, he's going to Tokyo

Well yeah, Tokyo. A big city in Japan and my Dad is going there, passing through the sea. And I don't know where is his next destination after Tokyo. The main point is, I quite envy with my Father because his job takes him everywhere. When's my turn, so ?

2) Well, its been a year since the last time I go to the optic and check my eyes. So, I went to the optic yesterday with my Mom and I found a shocking thing. My eyes' hypermetropia is damn increased up. I've got minus 2 for my left eyes and STILL minus 0.5 for my right eyes

I just confused, I think I'll get an equal for both of my eyes. And the real is, my left eye's minus is way higher than my right eye. So confusing. Now I know why its hard for me to see when the sun goes down. Blah !

3) New semester. New class. And some of new friends are coming to my class. So far, the new semester is good. And the subjects are very interesting. There are Photography, Graphic Computer (for now, specializing for Adobe Photoshop and I effingly happy to hear it !), Drawing, Typography, Indonesian Cultural History, English and DKV 1.

Sketchbook I used for this semester

Yah, I prefer a lineless book for now. Because when I get bored of writing, I can do some doodles in the middle of the class. Thats why I bought this A4 sketchbook. Very worth to buy

Symbols ?

I modified the cover of the sketchbook. It was plain, so I grab my drawing pen and paper. And starts to draw and design symbols for each subjects I'm learning this semester.

Well yeah, I'm not that good in drawing. But at least I literally can draw

Good news, I passed all of the subjects on the first semester and it means that I don't have to apply for a short semester (In Indonesian--semester pendek, shortened as SP on my campus). I'm just happy now. A good start for the first semester.

And yeah, I wish I could do better this semester with my limited drawing skill.

Sometimes the do-it-yourself things or we can shorten it as DIY can be so much fun. Like I've done for now, I've just made a tote bag from my mom's old blue skirt. And for additional, inspiration, and dedicated to our lovely fashion designer, Alexander McQueen

So the basic, I paint my left hands with a white acrylic paint and smack it in to my new tote bag (Thank you Mom for sewing it for me hehe). And here's the result

Sepertinya udah cukup gue mengeluarkan kata kata kasar di Twitter gue (@reevosaulus) gara2 masalah ini doang. Mending sekalian gue buat 1 note buat sekalian gue keluarin uneg uneg gue biar gue lega dan gak kebatas oleh 140 karakter. Well yes, that dude-- anak OSIS paling eksis se Texas 2009 ya kan, Daniel Pattinama. I'm kinda like reconnected-friendship with him through our mutual friend. His best friend is my campus' friend, so we usually play together blabalbla whatsoever -- ok yang ini buat yang kepo, gmn cerita nya Reevo bisa main sama Daniel, padahal cuma sekelas pas kelas 1 SMA doang. OK so this case is clear

So now what is the main reason I write this note is, ya jadi gini, dari kelas 1 SMA--dari jamannya gue masih make Sony Ericsson, ini bocah emang hobi banget ngelempar handphone gue tinggi2 terus ditangkep lagi and that is totally freaks me out. Daaaaann 2 hari yang lalu ini bener2 bikin gue pucat sepucat2nya, marah semarah2nya dan kesel sekesel2nya

Well dude, I totally have NO IDEA gimana cerita nya lo ngelempar handphone gue tinggi banget sampe hampir nyentuh atep rumah Agus ?!?!?!?!

And what makes it worst, friends; he throws my cellphone up up up in the air SAMPE NYANGKUT KE LAMPU GANTUNG, DAN INI BOCAH GAGAL NANGKEP DAN HANDPHONE GUE JATOH KENCENG SEKENCENG2NYA KE LANTAI. And what is your first reaction ?! SMILING ? ANJ*NG !!

Well I know you do basketball, you did well on Capoeira, you think you have a great motoric nerve on your hands, you shoots the ball correctly. I don't know what are you thinking ? Do you have an idiotic syndrome or something sampe lo bisa lempar handphone gue seenak pala botak lo kaya ngelempar bola basket dan lo gagal nangkep, terus ekspresi pertama lo pas tau lo jatohin handphone gue cuma ketawa lebar ?!?!??!?! FUCK LAH !

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnn there is an idiotic boy with motoric disorder is trying to impersonate Michael Jordan and use my cellphone as a basketball, he throws my cellphone tinggi banget sampe hampir nyentuh atep rumah nya Agus, terus nyangkut ke lampu gantung, gagal di tangkep dan JATOH di lantai dan jatoh nya tuh gak nyantai. Kalo jatoh nya kaya jatoh dari kantong ok gue maklumin karena itu purely gak sengaja. LAH INI, apa itu namanya "gak sengaja" tu botak ngelempar hp gue tinggi tinggi dan gagal nangkep nya ? HOW DARE YOU ?!?!?! Sok banget ya tangan lo lincah ckck

Dan apa saja efek yang dirasakan handphone gue setelah kejadian itu ? Well, pas itu handphone abis jatoh, MMC nya gak kebaca di handphone and it is STILL continue on until NOW. Next, pas gue mau nerima telepon, LCD handphone gue statis, gak bergerak padahal udah gue tekan incoming call button nya. See how rude your idiotic attitude is, bald guy !

To be honest, I am terribly mad, I am terribly upset. But I won't attack you with a physical attacking. Just think logic, "ilmu" lo lebih tinggi dari "ilmu" gue ya semua nya tau lah tepuk tangan dulu buat Daniel ckckck gila hebat ya, intinya-- I won't defeat you because its hard to punch a kuli kaya lo. I think its just inappropriate if I punch your stomach, slap your cheek or something like that because this so-called-sepele thing and I looked so childish kalo langsung nyerang lo tai amat , I'm just trying to be mature. But I failed.

OK wait, soal radio Prambors itu emang bener, waktu jam 8an itu ada semacem Trivia gitu disuruh isi titik2, dan gue pikir itu trivia pas banget ama gue .. Jadi gue isilah trivia itu lewat Twitter dan gue tweet ke Prambors : "SUMPAH YA, yang namanya DANIEL hari ini NGEJATOHIN HANDPHONE GUE AN***G !!!!"

OK I swear that was a very very random tweet karena gue pake bahasa kasar dan gue sangat yakin gak akan dibacain sama Prambors nya. Eh what makes it worst, the announcer read my tweets. Ouch, its out of my thing, so. Katanya ada anak texas yang dengerin ya ? Siapa tuh kalo bisa gue mo tau dong HAHAHAHA

Well, this one is originally for my final project for one of my subject on university.

"Make an artwork (everything called artwork) that portrays your personality"

(of course I'm serious to do this project, I want to get a good marks, please)

I choose a tough personality for this project and combine it with my friend's Capoeira skill

Basically, my concept is making a syntactic photography that connects each photos. And I am thinking of Capoeira because its literally tough. So this is the final results

"I'm a climber. I'm not a quitter. Eventhough I fells off for so many times, I will try to wake up. I will try to recover. I always do again and again. Until I did it and standing still"

Nah, the syntactic photos are portrays the narration (I'm hoping so). Try to look at the narration and match it with the pictures. I'm hoping its matched enough

And well, I think I took several good shots of him, too. So just count it now that I have a new portfolio set (Trust me, Daniel did very well on Capoeira). So here we go

So this one is the collage shots. Its quite hard to shoot an air shot. There were so many imperfect photos and he had to jumped over and over again

Done ! I took 5 shots of him and I just totally like it. Too bad I don't own a DSLR camera yet. I'm sure that the result would be better if I use a DSLR camera, though. But I'm quite satisfied with the result. I've done my assignment and I have a new portfolio set :)
